John Van Hemert

Principal/Owner

John Van Hemert grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.  After Graduating from Central University of Iowa with a B.A. in Communications, John joined Northwest Airlines.  After 15 years in the airline industry, John wanted a career change.  In 2005, John joined Farm Bureau as an insurance agent.  Frustrated by the company’s processes and only able to offer 1 company to the client, John started his own Independent agency in 2009.  JVan gave John the opportunity to offer choices to his clients when it came to protecting his clients assets.

Family:  John is married to his wife Shauna.  Together they have a daughter, Sydney

Hobbies:  Golf, Reading Biographies, Raising my daughter, and watching Iowa Football
